cavs cats n chicks
We had two chicks delivered on 3rd July, they started laying after a week. Arox 5 weeks ago went broody, I followed your forum advice but it went on for over 3 weeks, two weeks later she has not started to lay is there anything I can/should do. missed her while she kept disappearing into the Eglu and kept escaping to visit the hens down the track, she has stopped that now her friend is out. My hairdresser (who als keeps chickens) said try getting a third as this would help. Would it? any help/adivce would be appreciated. Thank you Jeanne
Plum
It wouldn't stop being broody but may be company for when she is. When I lost one, the two used to get quite distressed when the other was in the nestbox laying and very noisy. They are quiet now I have my new ones, even though they still tell me they disaprove. If you get another be sure it is because you want one and have enough room because may still go walkies and take the other with her
cavs cats n chicks
Thank you for this, yes we do have plenty of room so an extra would be no problem. They seem quite happy in the garden together, even tho' they seem to be tryingto reach Australia thro a hole in the lawn!! Jeanne
