iar fach goch
I am re-covering (or having re-covered!) a lampshade in a lovely Laura Ashley silk in duck egg blue. The shade previously had tassles around the edge and I was thinking I would update the shade with something more modern, beads perhaps? I have no idea how this would work, is it possible to buy some kind of trim with beads on it? Have been to my local (useless!) shop and they didn't even have any old fashioned type edging. As you are all so crafty and clever (unlike myself!) thought you might be able to come up with a few ideas.
Snowy
Yes! You can buy beads on a tape to use as edging. The only place I've seen them was Dunelm, but there must be other places stock them or search for bead trim on ebay - something like this: Beady Trim
theherd123
John Lewis sell bead trim if there is a store close to you?
iar fach goch
Thanks for the replies, unfortunately no John Lewis anywhere local, don't even know where the closest is, but will have a look on the web, that's just the kind of thing I'm looking for Snowy. I had a rootle through ebay after posting that link - the same seller has some rather nice beaded trim in duck egg blue as well!
