dazer
Hello - my chicken has not been eating for a few days and after checking her over it seems she has worms. I have some flubenvet, but how do I administer it if the hen is not eating? She does not even eat her favourite treats. Is there some super-treat that no chicken (even ill ones) can resist? thanks
Tutti Frutti
When my chook was poorly, she just couldn't resist mealworms. I had to dash to Tescos and buy them in the Petfood section under wild birdfood! She ate them like I eat peanuts Good luck, hope it helps. Egluntyne
Ordinarily I always recommend that you follow the manufacturers instructions and mix it with the feed, but if she isn't eating, I can see that might be difficult. Have you tried her with a sloppy porridge, with a tiny pinch mixed in? Will she eat meal worms? Died ones soaked in warm water go down a treat with a poorly hen, and you could add some to this. Yoghurt? Is she drinking? If not I would mix a tiny pinch with water and immediately syringe it into her beak. Adding it to the normal drinking water doesnt work, as it sinks to the bottom. TBH It might be worth taking her to the vet if she is completely off her grub.
