my mum (80) would like a new one for christmas.i need something light as shes tiny and fairly weak, which is not too expensive. Any ideas?

I had an old Boots folding travel hairdryer that lasted well over 20 years and finally gave up the ghost last year. Unfortunately this was just as I was about to go on holiday. I was going to the hairdresser's anyway and bought one of their GHD travel hairdryers. I think it was a bit pricey but I didn't have time to go anywhere else! It has been excellent - very light, good amount of power, heat isn't too high, I could manage it even with a broken wrist and broken leg!

 

But I'd check out Boots and see what they've got on offer - it will probably be cheaper and last for years.

There are a few lightweight ones - I was looking at one for my Mum before she passed away earlier this year.

 

The Boots site is useful because if I remember,they have the weights of all the hairdryers listed

However I wouldn't recommend it. The reason I bought it was because of the Nutri heat shine inserts that are suppose to make your hair shiny and nourised, I found they made my hair greasy

thanks i'll go look at Boots did have a quick look but didn't see weights will look again
