I have been looking at the forums and Ben at Hen House Poultry seems to be a popular choice, OH has spoken to him and thought he was very helpful. We live in Essex so felt that this was a good one to go for. Since making that decision someone has told us about a place nearby called Essex Poultry, based in Wickford I think. One of them caught a chest infection shortly after we got her, I took her back to see what could be done, he took her in gave her antibiotics for a week and I got her back right as rain a week later, no charge for this or board and lodging. Every time I have been back they seem to remember us and have always answered any question we may have. When we bought them they told us to call them any time for advice as we were newbies as this chicken keeping lark. If I wanted more chickens then I would definitely go there again and recommend others to do the same. jam Posted November 21, 2009 Share Posted November 21, 2009 I got my chickens from Glen's hens (love the name) near ongar. Theyre beautiful hens, and at a good price. I would really recommend giving him a call if you live anywhere near there. His number is normally in the back of the practical poultry magazine.
