ubereglu
You could always felt it by hand, or just put it on a shorter cycle. Where felting is concerned things will often reach a felting limit and so not felt much more than by 40%.
welovemarmite
the thought of felting by hand puts me off...... However today i have been very naughty. I found something on the internet late last night about a woman who has bought a potable washing machine that you use for camping. Its perfect. so being very naughty and knowing that i have other felting projects lined up...... i won an auction on ebay and it should be with me early next week............
