puddled duck
When i first had my 2 ducks at 5 weeks old, i fed them growers pellets (Hobson and Dorrell). I bought a large bag, so when this ran out a few weeks ago i bought some layers pellets, same make Hobson and Dorrell. (Ducks are now 6 months old, not laying yet but i realise that it will prob be springtime.) My query is that for the last 5 days they dont seem to have eaten any of the pellets that i put in their dog bowl? They used to be good eaters and most days the bowl would be empty. They are healthy and full of energy and will eat corn that i put down (Only put small amount) and mealworms as a treat. Any ideas as to why they seem to be adverse to the pellets? Should i try a different make? Would be grateful of any advice. Thanks. P.s They do free range when we are at home but are in a run whilst we are out at work - it dosent seem to make a difference, the pellets are still left on both days. miller30
Hi dont worry to much im sure if they are hungry they will eat it you could try putting some corn in with it and see if that works my ducks go through stages of eating loads and then not eating much leanne.
