Lydia
We flicked on on the chicken cam this morning we saw her march with purpose into the nest box and finally popped at 8.10 am. It's pale, it's thin shelled but it's an egg! We rehomed Annie, a 1 year old Pepperpot, via the forum in April. She was advertised as a non-laying hen and was due for the chop if no-one wanted her. I think she stopped laying in February. We suspected she'd been trying for a while as there's been softies in the poo tray where she sits, the odd bit of lash and thin, broken shells appearing in the nest box. But we couldn't prove it until this morning. Just goes to show sometimes all you need is a bit of patience.
