I got my 3 buff orps in May, along with the original 2, but in July Maple (1 of the buffs) went broody and ever since she has not laid any eggs. She has also been a bit scatty and scared of us since and has never got back to how she was. Will she ever get back to normal and will she ever lay eggs or is there something wrong with her, she looks fine in herself.

Of course she is a pure breed so may well stop over winter but that doesnt explain the gap between the broody phase and winter!

 

Was she laying well between you getting her and her going broody?

 

I would probably worm them if you havent done so already and do the normal checks for lice/mites and cut her some slack for now, if she doesnt re-start in the spring then I would probably start questioning some more
