daffy duck
Hi. I have just logged on to this site. I have two Silver Appleyard ducks. I have had them for 5 months now and they have not laid any eggs. Any suggestions as to encourage them would be very greatfully received. They are fed duck pellets, corn and chicken spice. They have a pond and sleep in an Eglu. Please help.
chocchick
You could try PMing Lesley/Kazaddress if you don't get a reply fairly soon as they keep ducks. I just have chickens. Hope you're enjoying your new(ish) ducks and they lay an egg soon.

Lesley
Hello! - how old are your ducks? Our duck laid her first egg when she was 22 weeks old. They eat layers pellets ad lib and a handful of corn each in the afternoon. I'm off now but will be back later.......
Caroline
I was just starting to think our duck would never lay and then she did! The duck laid WAY later than the chickens did. took ages - like Lesley said, about 22 weeks
Caroline
.......as for chickenslayingmore than ducks... PAH! My duck gives me a beautiful blue egg every morning whereas only one hen is laying at the moment and she just seems to do that when she feels like it! Have to say though - she seems to be laying more now the duck is!
