emchook
I currently have 3 ISA Warrens [ 1 year olds ] in an eglu with a converter extension on the run. I will be getting a WIR soon [ hopefully] I really want to get another chicken [ light sussex]. Is it ok to introduce only one POL chicken to the other 3 .. or should I introduce 2 POL ?? As much as I would like to get more chickens I am not sure the OH [ I mean the garden ] could withstand the damage to the garden
Redwing
I would wait until you have got your WIR then get two new hens My reasoning: The Eglu run can then be used inside the WIR for intros with a cat box for sleeping Five hens will sleep in an Eglu ok later when all are introduced sucessfully It will be warmer for new hens in temp accomodation in spring There will be more choce of hens in spring Four are a squeeze in an eglu with converter - its not the end of the world but not ideal Two hens are easier to introduce than one
