Bread book

Recommended Posts

I've had a lovely book, all about bread, for my birthday. Coincidentally, it's called 'Bread' and is by Christine Ingram and Jennie Shapter. There's over 500 pages of info, history and recipes on breads from all around the world, including a large section on breadmakers. There's hints on bread making, info about different types of flour, the history of bread, and milling too. There's even a recipe which uses leftover long grain rice in a loaf  I've been flicking through it all day, there's over 250 recipes(ooh just found recipes on Japanese bread, blinis, and a Bulgarian loaf called a Kolach!) lots of other info and useful pics of each different type of bread.

The best bit is the price. My mum bought it for me and found it in WH Smith for a fiver, which is a third of the RRP, and it's the 2009 print too!

I imagine some of you may have this book already, but if you haven't and you want a definitive book about bread, I think this may be it.

:D
