It sort of binds together different fabrics without sewing. You can also put ribbons & threads onto the fabric too & make wonderful whacky pieces. Most people made squares of embellished fabric to make bags with. I think you can also sort of needle felt with them - felt your wool tops onto a piece of flat felt? Whatever, I wanted one.
