gazzagerkin
one of our girls is loosing the feathers on top of her head is this normal ? cant see any other signs of moulting on her, or is it something else thanks
Mrs Frugal
She could be having the feathers pulled out by another hen. One of mine had this last year and was bald (bless her!) right up until she moulted in October! Keep an eye out for signs that you have a bully and if you find you have, there are lots of different anti-peck sprays on the market you could use on her but as it's difficult to spray a hen's head without getting it in her eyes, I sprayed the liquid into a pot and painted it onto her head with a paintbrush instead. Redwing
Yes keep an eye out for any bullying but it couls be a moult, one of mine is moulting and has a bald head and bald shins (she normally has feathered legs) but is fully feathered elsewhere
