emchook
This is one for using up leftover yolks [ as if an excuse is needed ] This recipe only makes a small amount . I always double up for my small ice cream maker. Ingredients 2 large egg yolks 50g [ 2oz] sugar 80 ml milk 15ml [ 1 tbsp ] cocoa powder 50 g [ 2oz] chocolate bar 120 ml double cream Method 1. Beat the egg yolks and sugar together until they turn pale 2. Mix milk and cocoa powder together and add to the egg mixture Heat in a saucepan over a low heat until it thickens. [ I use a microwave with glass bowl on low heat ] DO NOT ALLOW TO BOIL 3. Break up chocolate bar and stir into the hot custard mixture. Allow to cool 4. Whisk the cream until thick 5. Stir the cream into the chocolate mixture and then place in ice cream maker
