Eglu Cube, auto door, walk in run for sale South West London

I sit here tonight very very sad.

 

This morning I woke up to find find a terrier dog in the eglu run, and my lovely white lop bun DEAD ..................

I could kick myself as he usually is a house rabbit but thanks to me deciding to give him fresh air and grass he is now gone....................

 

OK the run was on slightly uneven grass but I have an extension on it so its quite heavy, the terrier had lifted the eglu run and got in, I feel devestated, having got in it was trapped in the cage and could not get out. My poor bun was a sitting target.

 

I was mortified, the dog has escaped from a farm about a mile away and had run across two fields, god on knows how he saw the bun in the pitch black, I hate terriers!.

 

I called the police who came and all they could do was to call the dog warden who new the dogs and took the back to the owner, with a fine of 45.00.! big deal.

 

As the victim of this I am left with nothing, and not even an apology, what sort of people are they????

 

So, a word of warning, I must disagree the runs ARE NOT always fox/dog proof unless totally tent pegged down, and if determined preditors will stop at nothing to get in.

 

My girls are in the cube so are safe.

 

Please take my advise and if you have not already done so peg your eglu down.

So sorry.. I would agree that they are not Fox proof either. My bunny was killed through the mesh. I found him with one leg pulled through the mesh in the door. It was really distressing.

 

I did call Omlet and their response was it had never happened before! They also supplied me with a small bird kit, which attaches to the bottom of the run to stop the rabbits legs poking through, which I think is how my rabbit was caught by the fox.

 

I have now given up and bought the other rabbit indoors as the fox re-visits our garden almost everynight. I simply don't trust the eglu anymore..

Hi there,

 

interesting to read you experience, maybe the eglu is'nt as great at all that, and clearly NOT PREDITOR PROOF.

 

Today is day two and I still feel very tearful, its so traumatic and I feel so guilty, my poor little boy meeting such an end, and what makes it worst is that it was someones dog who lives up the road, not a word of apology, so ignorant.

 

I am very sorry to hear about your rabbit, it must have been an awful sight.

 

A good friend of mine said think back onthe last 18 months and how pampered he was and his quality of life, I guess that does help.

 

I hope eglu read this and reinforce that the runs should always be pegged down even on even ground as it does not stop a determined prediator.

 

Look after you house rabbit, and never let him in the garden unattended!
