tom123
Pekin... Perfect, equal comb with 5 points (correct) Can't see her foot feathers, are they broken at all? No white feathers from what I can see so that's good Polish... Both crests have quite a lot of black leakage but this is common so not to worry about Hen has nice small wattles and comb not visible (good) Good luck
joza2210
Thank you Her feet feathers are a bit dirty and dry but will all be well after her bath (A week before the show)
tom123
Do the feathers round off as normal feathers do or are they straight? If so then they are broken. It isn't too much of a problem though as feet and legs only make up for a few points
Redwing
The Pekin is pretty, nice frizzling, evenly curved feathers, its hard to see how she stands but the Pekin showing world is competative so she will need to be as low to the ground as possible and tilted forward, ideally there should be no light under her when she stands. Her foot feathers need to be unbroken The Polish have poor crests as Tom says but Polands are under represented at shows and so you may have a chance at a local show, what it will do is give you some experience and people will be happy to offer advice if you ask nicely, usually the judge will be happy to spare some time AFTER all the judging is over Make sure the birds are nice and clean and check them carefully for mites You'll need to keep them separate from the others for a week after the show Here are some pics of my show birds

Redwing
She is a little upright but doesnt look too bad at all, get her there early so she settles, this will make her stand lower, keep your hands out of the show cage once she is settled! Nice little Pekin
joza2210
Thanks For all Your help the show is in may and my dad is getting a spare show pen of one of his friends so the bird does not freak out when they get to the show ... Also do the judges look at the size of the polish crest because i dont think my hen can see very well ? Thanks
Redwing
All birds are judged against the standards and with the Polands I think they are supposed to have full crests, whether they can see or not and other practical things dont come in to it.. tom123
Polish crests are meant to be big and they look perfect As Tasha said, Pekins are meant to tilt forward and Judges will mark them down if they don't. To train her to do this, pop her in the show cage and either with your hand or a bamboo cane, gently tilt her head down. When she is in the right position then place a small handful of corn in front of her to reward her. Remember, wash your birds about 7-8 days in advance to allow their feathers to get back in to place and get their 'bloom' back before the show. Good Luck
