sorry, sorry, sorry - another question

Recommended Posts

Do bantams do community broodiness? It started last week when we had several days of constant rain and they stopped coming out. I was wondering if it triggered something.

They look well, their combs are bright red and they come out for food, playing etc but then go back into their coop for most of the day. I was getting an egg from one of them but that has stopped now.

Does this sound familiar?

Oh, that sounds familiar alright... My three pekins are thoroughly disgusted with the weather at the moment (snow, mist, rain). They come barreling out for their breakfast, have a scratch about, then go straight back to bed. Any sight or sound of me (ie possible treats and snacks), they're our again like lightning - but the eggs have definitely slowed too.

I don't think it's actual broodyness, per se - I would also go back to bed in the miserable weather if I could! :D
