I don't know about Onduline, but I have Corruline on the roof of my aviary, well on half of it now as the other half is corrugated plastic. I don't know what the correct terms are, but we fixed vertical supporting timbers and then horizontal baton onto the supporting timbers, and then the Corruline on top of that to prevent sagging.

 

I'd have thought that fixing Onduline (or anything else that isn't transparent) to a sheet of wood would create the same red mite habitat as using felt over wood, as it's the dark gaps between the two that they love, not the felt itself.

 

Onduline over a sheet of strong weld mesh would work, both in terms of not sagging and not harbouring red mite. Or clear corrugated plastic over the existing wooden roof (once the felt is removed).
