Maccbean
Hi there I have five hens, all around 18 months old, with two of them being legbars. In the past year I've had only softies (except about four) from both of the legbars (although the other three hybrids lay consistently. The legbars both moulted at the end of November, which took about 3-4 weeks. Am I right in assuming it must be EDS, and nothing can be done about it now? Thanks Debbie
Christian
If it is EDS then I don't think anything can be done, as the vaccinations is given when they are chicks. Have you tried any of the suggestions here - viewtopic.php?f=44&t=4720 Good luck and hope you get proper eggs again soon
Maccbean
Yes, they always have a pot of oystershell and grit in their run, and they've always been fed on layers pellets. It's odd because they are rarely laid in the nesting box, they seem to pop them out on the roosting bars, so we find them in the trays. I must admit, I've sort of given up hope of them ever laying properly again. At least I generally get three eggs a day, so can't complain.
