Kit
Hi Have picked up my new chooks today and a BIG thank you to Poachedegg for lending me her spare pink eglu (which confused my 2 existing girls as their home is pink too) Anyway Garden Poultry in Frodsham sold me 1 speckedley girl who seems to be doing some pecking of her new sisters - Polly 2 Jasmines - 1 who is a few weeks older laying green eggs - Ruby and Rose 1 bluebelle - Felicity My question are as follows How many weeks do I keep the gingernut and Miss Pepperpot separated from the new girls ( I read one week in the intros). The existing girls are 18mths old & free range all day Polly I noticed today was pecking the jasmines when I sprinkled meal worms into their run. Is this normal and is Polly going to be top girl? The cube arrives on the 18th March...12 days..shall I put them all in it together at the same time? My WIR will be ready next weekend...do I keep it vacant until cube arrives so that all the girls go into it at the same time? it measure 1.8m by 3.6m What can I put into the eglu run to keep the new girls entertained whilst they cannot freerange all day like the other 2? Will probably have more questions as I go along and I hope you don't mind me asking! Thanks in advance Kit
