Pro - Does anyone else's nest boxes get soaked in rain?

No I'm not writing a book. Went to the new farm opened near us recently and was absolutley taken with this contraption which was over the nesting box of the chciken house. If you pulled what looked like an old toilet chain the nest box roof opened and in this case revealed 6 eggs in the nest. Guess who enjoyed herself no not my 8 yr old - little ole me (48 and not grown up yet) Wondered if the Omlet makers could devise one - I have visions of a surprised looking hen minding her own business whilst dropping an egg and the roof disappears. Bit like being on the loo and someone removes the roof. Needless to say had to be dragged away by YS and OH
