Porkypie
There is a general page here on Omlet which I found useful: viewtopic.php?t=22584 I fitted my first this morning and softened in warm water for a few minutes then used pliers (with narrow ends I had already) to help prise open. Two person job and I found she was calmer being held wrapped in a towel. It took a a few attempts but we got there in the end and she still has it on. You really need to hold her head still. If we can do it anyone can! The other two hens (who don't require a BB) pecked at it a few times and then left it alone. She wasn't herself for a couple of hours and went behind some bushes hunched up but suddenly started digging and seemed ok after that. I hope it goes well
Laura & CTB
Wrap her in a towel to keep her calm and def use pliers! I always found that a sprinkling of corn around the place afterwards helped in distraction!
