Unsecure chicken perches

My Miss Pepperpot has laid in the nest box since we got her in November; this last week, I have been concerned that there were so few eggs (we had been getting 2 everyday, 3 some days - from 3 chickens, not just Pepper!) This morning I watched Pepper as she raced out of the run, round behind the oil tank........where I found 7 eggs!!!!

Is there a reason why she should suddenly start laying there? And how do I get here to lay back in the nest box?!

Looks like 'll be making cakes and meringues today then!

Very strange that she has suddenly decided to lay elsewhere...

 

Have you recently changed your nestbox bedding? Have you had a look inside for any redmite/beasties?

No, nothing has changed - still using wood shavings, as always, and no sign of any beasties! The other 2 are still laying in the nest box!
