henriette
I am sad to say that I have had to give Mr & Mrs Waddle to a neighbour Mrs was very sweet, but Mr just got worse and worse. I have had problems with him for a long time and tried to put up with his behaviour, but he has been pulling feathers out of the goose and pecking her mercilessly. I couldn't leave Mrs on her own, so they have both gone. He even started to put his neck out at me ! My neighbour has loads of ducks and chickens so chances are they will be happier there. It is a bit quiet here now
Chucky1
Sorry to hear that you are now duckless. As you say though they should be happy enough in their new home. Good Luck
Lesley
Sorry your ducks have had to go - we had to get rid of a Devil Drake as well......he went off to the freezer though. We put some of the eggs in the incubator to hatch and have another 6 now, but we will only be keeping the girls. You need a couple of ducks now then H ? - girls are much more fun! Chucky1
Had you thought of another breed of Loved One?
henriette
Had you thought of another breed of Loved One? That really made me laugh However, I wouldn't dream of it. He is incredibly patient and puts up with me and all the beasties- just have to bide my time and wait for the right moment I happen to know he would quite like to have some Indian Runners again
Lesley
My first thought as well I could always slip a couple of ducks in the car when we meet up in September? Wonder if they'd need a passport
henriette
Well now, that's a thought Not sure about passports for ducks
flutterby
we had to get rid of a Devil Drake as well......he went off to the freezer though. I've been considering this with Squeak (my DD) but my daughter is resisting and wants me to re-home him - from whence he came .....which probably means he'll go to someone else's freezer.... Lesley did you deal with him yourself or find someone else? I'm not sure where to begin if i decide to upset my daughter i do like a bit of duck
Lesley
We dealt with him ourselves - but ducks aren't as easy to despatch as hens. Rehoming would be good if you can find someone to take him.
