well my 2 chicks are an hour old both talking away loudly and trying to stand up but a bit wobbly at the mo they still have there cords stuck to them but im guessing they will fall off like a babies dose when dried out .i cant believe they have hatched im totaly in love with them and want to help them already but the inccy will be kept shut till tonight when hopefully they can come out so what will be will be they have made it this far so hope the next 24hrs goes well for them to such a worrying time

It is worrying bt you are doing well so far so keep calm

 

Any 'cord' should fall away yes, most dont hatch with any visible but if they do it normally dries quickly

hi thanks redwing ,chicks seem to be doing well cord is all dry only one out of the 2 had it they were light sussex eggs and i have one yellow fluffy chick and one grey/white fluffy chick dose that mean boy and girl and which is which

no they are not an autosexing or sex linked breed

 

They should be yellow but some chicks of any breed will have variations in their chick fluff

thanks for that will just have to wait and see. for now there names are sooty (grey one) and sweep (yellow one) lol
