debbie26pet
i need your thoughts and options i may have, we have 20+ hens and now 7 ducks(1 is a boy) the new ones think its great to shout in a morning at 6 much to the disgust this morning, they all share sheds and let them selves out inot a covered run in a morning, then i let them out into another run more outdoor, this area is over 45ft wide and about 25ft deep roughly (i am thinking at min to cut down on birds to give more space) so we now thinking the ducks need there own space and house and be locked in at night but may mean im gonna have to do the enclosure may get a bit more of garden to add ot it in the hens quater, im not to sure any tips etc please
Lesley
We keep our hens and ducks separate. Long runs each with their own house and then the whole block is protected by electric wire placed 9" from the ground and 9" away from the chicken wire netting. This is attached to an energiser and a leisure battery. We don't lock any of ours away at night but we don't have neighbours who may be annoyed by earlt morning quacking or crowing.
