Moth eaten chicken...

Recommended Posts

One of my hybrid ladies, Ginger, had a small moult during the winter. She had a small bare patch on her neck and not much more. She now has long stick like things poking through the skin which I'm assuming are new feathers. However the rest of her feathers, on her body (top of leg) area and on her front seem very moth eaten and she looks much scruffier than the others. She is top chook so I am not aware of any feather pulling from the others. :?

How long can you normally expect a moult to last? Does it get worse before it gets better?! I was hoping for beautiful chooks this summer! :D

Has anyone else had anything similar?
