~lizzy~ Posted April 18, 2010 Share Posted April 18, 2010 are any of you single and still like to get away, i am recently single but i still want to go away in my motorhome. i am a member of the caravan and camping club and will probably go to a few weekend rallies but would just need to pluck up a bit of courage first. is anyone in a similar position? Daphne Posted April 18, 2010 Share Posted April 18, 2010 well I'm not single, nor do I have a camper ....but I have a friend who is/does She also has a 10 year old son who goes with her. She's an outdoorsy girl and she used to camp in a tent, but its been her dream to buy a camper and since buying it she's joined the caravan club - not so much for the rallies but for the sites and hints about campering. She's met lots of people out in the fresh air over the years - I think its a nice blend of being with people, but having your own space as well. There's always lots of opportunities to meet naturally aren't there - like over the corkscrew you've forgotten, the barbie that won't light, the tent poles you're struggling with etc etc. People always ask you where you're from, what you're doing there and you can often end up sharing a drink or whatever if you want. People seem more friendly and sharing out of doors. I guess with rallies its a bit more organised, but you can still opt in or out. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
