l_ouise
Hello. I got my chickens yesterday and although they are drinking from the Glug bowls, they don't seem to comprehend the Grub bowl. I keep putting pellets around the base of it, which they will eat but they don't eat from the bowls even though they must be hungry. I was just wondering at what height i should place it? I had it just below eye level and then i had it just above the floor but it makes no difference. They just keeping scratching looking for food on the ground when there isn't any! Thanks
Ain't Nobody Here
They'll probably work it out soon . They don't appear to eat an awful lot at first but they won't let themselves go hungry. When they start laying they'll start eating like horses . You could try putting some tidbits (cut up grapes or dried mealworms) in the grub so they know how to eat out of it but I'd be wary of that as then they might expect that all the time and ignore the pellets . I'm sure the height of the feeders is fine but this photo shows where mine are if it helps .
