Gelbel
Hi, Madge has been crouching for a few days now so I've been waiting for her first egg. She was out FR this morning and having a whale of a time and was 100% fit and well. About 11am she started sort of hanging about the coop and was all nice and calm (she lives life at 100mph). About 11:40 she disappeared into the nest box. I kept a discrete eye on her - she was fine. Just over an hour later she came out - had a little bok and since then has displayed all the classic signs off laying a softee. There was no egg in the nest - nothing at all as I had a rummage around. Is there anything I can do to speed the softee along? I feel so sorry for her - she is so forlorn and miserable and just seems to want to doze on her feet and I can see her lovely tail has dropped right down. Is there anything I can be doing to make her more confortable? I've had a search around but only found the symtoms not what I can be doing to help. Gelbel
She has seemed to perk up - back to her normal lively self. She still looks a bit 'eyesey' but she's just tackled Ada for a worm and won. I can't see any evidence of anything passed where she's been standing. Think I am gong to have to keep an eye on her until we get an egg off her.
staceychristie
She sounds well. I think all you can do is keep your eyes open, and make sure she's eating drinking and pooping ok. Stacey
