Duck Noise

I've had my Omlet chickens since early Feb and have had no problems..till this morning...7am to be exact. My Miss Pepperpot started to make a very loud duck noise...i actually thought a duck was in the street...then i realised it was Alice and thought something was threatening her...they were both locked in the run.

 

Only 1 of my cats was nearby...but they have never been bothered by any of the cats of the street.....but she had just laid. She has never made this sound before. As soon as i opened the door to go to her and said shush..she stopped. I let them out to free range and she was fine.

 

Why on earth did she make this noise? If this is going to be regular then my neighbours will complain and we will have no choice but to rehome her.
