squidsin
I should probably have saved them up and asked them all in one go, but instead I am doing it as we go along... I also just wanted to do this. Cool! Ahem. Anyway, my two pekin bantams seemed to want to sleep IN the nesting box tonight, and kept shoving each other out, wandering round the run, then going back in and arguing over it. Is this normal? Is it because the roosting bars are too big for their little feet, and if so, should I take them out? Or is it just a pecking order thing? Also, they've eaten quite a lot of their pellets in their Grub but I obviously over-filled it when I did got the chooks and set up the Eglu on Sunday as there's still quite a bit left. When should I chuck out the old stuff and replace it? Thanks! So cool.

I shouldnt worry about them sleeping in the next box, they all do it from time to time and probably just jostling for position Also, they've eaten quite a lot of their pellets in their Grub but I obviously over-filled it when I did got the chooks and set up the Eglu on Sunday as there's still quite a bit left. When should I chuck out the old stuff and replace it? It should be fine for 2 - 3 days, so long as its dry. Try just putting a little in at a time until you have a rough idea of how much they eat in a couple of days Next Question? Thanks! So cool.
