stephent
just wondered if we should be providing food and water inside the eglu for the hens to feed on at night? Just got our chickens earlier, so its their first night
chick wiggle
Hi and welcome to the forum so exiting, new chickens. No, they dont need anything in the eglu on a night, they will be absolutely fine until morning. Make sure there is food and water for them when they come out and they will be happy. What chickens have you got?
stephent
got a blackrock (meg) and a speckledy (mishell). Cant believe how easy they are so far. i thought it would be hard work getting them to bed on the first night, but they went straight in as soon as it started to get dark. chick wiggle
Thats brilliant, clever Meg and Mishell. New chickens usually need to be put in the eglu until they understand thats where they sleep. You obviously have very clever girls there! I have black rocks and speckledys too and they are some of my friendliest chucks, very good choice there You do understand photos are compulsory on this forum dont you?
