hi all

im planing on hatching for the first time ,i have a small incy that holds 7 eggs ,my mum wants 2 hens for her garden and my dad says he will take upto 4 boys for me

does it make sense to put six eggs in the incy ?

 

what are the chances they will all be boys ,i dont want to end up with 2 boys that i cant home

 

the only reason im hatching is because my mum wants 2 cream leg bars to add to her garden flock and i thought it would be nice for the kids to see it from the start

 

i have tried to be resposible and house the boys before i even start ,but what do i do if they all hatch and are all boys?

 

i thought if i brought 6 eggs maybe 4 will hatch so even if they are all boys i can rehome that .am i right to assume this or should i make sure i have homes for 6 boys before i start ?

 

any advice would be great

Make plans for 6 boys just in case but if I am honest you have been more than realistic with your estimations

 

Of any 6 eggs, plan that one wont be fertile, one wont make it through the 21 days and 4 will hopefully hatch
