Blue-DiamondChick07
Will my Ex-Batts need a pully if they're too oven ready? It will be end of May when they will be ready to come home. Are the jumpers just for winter?
Egluntyne
No. They should be fine. The jumpers get filthy and stop the hens preening properly, so aren't a good idea, other than in the depths of winter on a very sp"Ooops, word censored!"ly feathered hen anyway. Tutti Frutti
Back in the awful snow just before/during/after Xmas, I knitted one for my really, really bald ex-barn girl (who I found shivering) and she HATED it, crying and walking backwards trying to get it off! So it lasted all of 30 seconds. Instead, I gave her warm "porridge" (their feed with hot water & some raisins) and put her to bed! I was told that the jumpers could also stunt the feather growth so aren't a good idea Well done for asking, when do you get your girls?
