iandjsmum
It's day 20 for us! I looked at the eggs today when Collen got off for her break and noticed to my horror that one had a large crack in it. There was no sound or movement coming from it and no sign of a chick many hours later. It's my guess that this is an egg that got broken a few days ago but as this is my first hatching I don't know what to expect. Can you see movement or hear a noise when they really are pipping? Redwing
You dont always see rocking or hear much noise but it does sound like a crack, normally when a chick pips it makes a triangle 'peak' as it breaks through the shell, it then chips away all round, this is normally wider than a crack Leave it till the others have hatched and then give it a quick candle, do not open the incubator at this point whatever you do!
