feathered friends Posted May 5, 2010 Share Posted May 5, 2010 I thought that my french copper marans hen was being picked on by the two orpingtons but I am now unsure whether she is taking some of her own feathers out. She has lost feathers on her lower back, chest and neck. Some have definately been plucked out by the other hens ( I have seen them) but why would she be doing it too. I have checked her out and the coop for lice/mites etc. She also seems quite thin but is eating and laying and otherwise bright eyed.
