sick chicken help needed

Recommended Posts

Hi all

I am in need of some help please. i came home from holiday last night and today i let out some of my girls to freerange and i noticed that after a while out my silkie looked as if it was falling asleep. i went to check on her and her eyes looked slightly closed but she ran away from me as always i then gave them some mealworm and corn to see if she was eating and she ran to eat it. tonight they have all taken themselves to bed but she stayed under the cube i went and managed to catch her as she wasn't her usual fast self and when i lifted her to put her in the cube she feels really thin i could feel her breast bone and she sounds almost like she has phlegm in her throat. Im quite worried and think a vet visit in the morning is needed but any help would be great. thanks

If her chest is rattly/wheezy then I would definitely take to her to vet tomorrow.

Could be a chest infection or anything, but a vet should be able to help. Just make sure that she is eating and more importantly drinking.

Hope she is back to good health soon.
