midgie
Hi, any words of wisdom...? Three of my girls (all between 12 - 24 mths old) are looking a bit droopy. At first we thought one was broody, staying in the coop all day, but as another 2 began hiding away in various places and looking listless, we began to think there's maybe another problem Then I noticed that they're all looking a bit bald and pink around the vent(not anywhere else). I don't think this is pecking, as the baldest is also quite definitely the Top Hen, and won't stand for any nonsense! To top it all, we noticed that one had some blood in her poo this evening - this may or may not be related. We've checked for red mite and lice, but are either missing the signs or that's not the problem. Tomorrow we're going to pressure-wash and Poultry Shield the coop, but what to do with the poor balding, droopy chooks? Anna
Snowy
Could it be coccidiosis? The blood in the poo and the listlessness sounds suspicious. You can get treatment for it - someone will be along soon who knows I'm sure.
sandyhas3chucks
If you think it is and blood IS very clear symptom then treating with speed is of the utmost importance so call the vet 1st thing in the morning, unless you can find someone with pigeon meds tonight .
