Is your dog's unusual barking a secret code for something mysterious?

Hi there.

 

I filled my new WIR with hemcore today - ahead of my ex-batts which are arriving tomorrow finally!

 

But it said in the instructions to sprinkle the hemcore with water - 1 litre per bale - "to activate it".

Is that right? Or is water just or using with horses? I don't want to get it wet unnecessarily - but if it does need to be 'activated' then I should sprinkle it in the morning.

 

Meanwhile, very excited since new chooks arrive tomorrow (or rather, we go to fetch them rom a BHWT meet up tomorrow lunchtime). New WIR ready for them! Can't wait.

Thank you both! I knew I was right to check here. Everyone is so helpul and responsive. I would not be where I am now (about 2 hours to go until we go and fetch our 6 hens) without you lot!

 

Sat here in bed with laptop and my chicken book as a reminder (haven't had hens or a year and needed a bit of a reminder!).
