angel 0406 Posted May 23, 2010 Share Posted May 23, 2010 hi i notice today that there was blood on the shed floor i have news paper down an there were little drops on it then my silkie went in to lay her egg and when i collected it the egg had a smudge of blood on it took it into the house went back and had a look in the nest box and there was blood in there the egg must of landed in it when layed and got it on it, the thing is i have no idear where its coming from on my chicken there is only one other chicken in with her they have always been togeather and havent been fighting im home all the time and pottering around with them about so would notice if they werent friends can find whats bleeding any idears? thanks amie Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Egluntyne Posted May 24, 2010 Share Posted May 24, 2010 Could be that a larger than normal egg has caused a tiny internal tear. A little blood goes a long way, and things can look rather alarming. If you get really worried, PM me, as I can recommend a local chicken friendly vet, and could even pop over as you are only 10 minutes away.
