Hi all,

I want to buy 2 ex-battery chooks. Does anyone know where I can get them from in the Derbyshire/Cheshire area?

Great news Angus! You won't regret it, their characters are just fascinating

 

I don't know about Cheshire/Derbys but I got my 2 girls from BHWT (was Battery but now British Hen Welfare Trust). The link takes you to the contact page. They normally want you to take three girls but were happy for me to have two to add to my established pair, as three new rescues would bully the two established girls

 

I also found a few other charities - Little Hen Rescue are in Norfolk plus my local rescue centre has chooks!

You could search for some local hen farms and see if they are getting rid of any.
