oneyolktoanother
got up this morning to let chooks out and let them fr and then put them into their runs which was expanded yesterday so they fr all day yesterday but my legbar daisy isnt her self at all she keeps sitting down and is drinking but not interested in food not even her favourites, at first i though maybe she was egg bound the way she seems like a balloon and standing like shes trying to lay, but checked her out and her crop was so hard so gave her some olive oil and massaged her and her crop went soft. So we went striaght out to get some white maggorts as my other barnebar hen had the same last week when we came back she was in the coop the others had some (loved them ) and thenmy legbar daisy came out and had some and she went in the coop and layed but she is still the same standing or sitting about i am so worried and now her crop is hard again can anyone give me any advice its so worrying to see her like this she normally loves her food and is always running around, what could be causing the impacted crop? do i feed them too much? they have pellets all day and on a morning some mash and afternoon they have fruit and greens and on the night a handful of corn. sandyhas3chucks
sounds like a trip to the vets is in order to me.. daisy isnt her self at all she keeps sitting down and is drinking but not interested in food not even her favourites, at first i though maybe she was egg bound the way she seems like a balloon and standing like shes trying to lay, like a baloon doesn't sound right at all. Redwing
Peritonitis? That doesnt explain the crop problem but does explain the balloon problem
sandyhas3chucks
Don't they go into like stasis when something is up in the egg department?
