stephent Posted May 28, 2010 Share Posted May 28, 2010 Iam sure most of you have seen my pics of our run, with wood chip. Well the chickens have been digging around in the run and they kick the woodchip, which is fine, but some of it gets into the slot that the metal bar for the door slides into. So the lock the door at night, can be a bit troublesome. It just doesnt want to lock and needs quite a bit of fiddling and force to get it in. Redwing Posted May 28, 2010 Share Posted May 28, 2010 I have had this problem previously yes I placed the woodchip about a foot from the door so it wasnt as deep near the door Any that did get kicked in to teh slot was hooked out with a bamboo cane Weekly I used to take the lid off the Eglu and reach through the front door with a short handled how to push it all back a foot or so again Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
