Blue-DiamondChick07
2 of the Ex-Batts are eating well, and ive just showed them how to get their water, but Big Bird won't come out of her house. She was out for a bit this morning, then started making alot of noise as if she'd laid an egg (but hadn't) now she wont come out the house. Shall I bring her out to the food and water? or leave her to figure it out? Not sure if its just cos of the shock of re-homing yesterday, or what.... Redwing
If the house and run are on the same level then leave her to get on with it If the house is raised you'll probably have to lift her down
Lavenders_Blue
It may take your ex-batts a few days to settle down in their new home. It's a big change for them in their surroundings as well as they way in which they get food and water. Plus they won't know the other girls they have been rehomed with. One of mine in particular was very quiet when she first came and would simply perch in the door of the coop for hours on end. I would lift her out to eat and drink, or take some food and water to her. After a week or so she got braver and started to muck in with the rest of them (although she did end up at the bottom of the pecking order by default as the others got on with all the argy-bargy around her while she watched from her doorway perch!) Blue-DiamondChick07
She seems to have picked up a bit now, shes having a munch and seems a bit brighter. She was just sitting hunched in the coop, but came out for greens etc - have to see if shes drinking though. It was very heart warming to see her and her mates scracthing for the first time, albeit weak and feeble... bless
