bridgy chooks
Hi Just wondering if anyone knows what type of I have in my garden. It keeps visiting my honeysuckle but I'm not sure what it is and google hasn't helped much. It's quite large and is black all over with rounded wings and an orange bum. Just curious really! Never seen such a black one before.

chickenlady
Not sure if this is it or helps ? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bombus_lapidarius
Daphne
I should think it is a red-tailed bumble as they are quite common and apparently they look for burrows in which to build nests! They are gorgeous aren't they
bridgy chooks
Yes that's definitely what it is, I feel like I should have known that as it says they are common - oops! At least I know now
