CatieB
Hello and sorry to anyone who has read this in eggs but it hasn't had much response and I need help. We have 3 new girls (now about 19 weeks old) who all laid for the first time on tuesday. Since then nothing really apart from one girl who keeps laying softies in the evening. Her first one was on tuesday evening too so the same day as the first eggs and we are pretty sure one of them was hers. Yesterday she did one softy immediately after the other and began to eat the second - is it very odd to do one after the after. None of these have been whilst in the cube or run but whilst out free ranging in the afternoon (don't know if thats relevant) Is this anthing to worry about and that we need to do something about or just teething problems for a new hen that we should leave to settle. We really hope someone knows as we are at a loss. Other than that the girls all seem happy and healthy and are filling up on their layers mash, grit etc. Should we leave them in the run to monitor the situation more - goodness knows if we are missing more Many thanks in advance
taz1967
Hi I hope you get some replys to this, as It would be interesting to know what everyones thoughts are. One thing I have picked up from reading the 'Whats everyone feeding their chickens' thread is that some people have had softies from feeding one brand of food, they have then changed to another brand and had no more softies. Apart from that, Are they having grit in with their feed every day?? Gary
