Could someone advise me what the minimum size WIR I need for 8 hybrids and 2 bantams - in feet, I was thinking 12x6x6 or 15x6x6. Thanks

You need about 10sq ft per hen so I think you need to be looking at bigger than the dimensions you have suggested.

About 18x6x6 would be a minimum size.

 

It depends if you are only planning on keeping them in there occasionally. If you are going to the effort of making a WIR you may as well get one as big as you can so they hens you have won't feel overcrowded and that you will also have room for more hens.

 

Of course this is just my opinion and those with WIR may be able to give you better info.

They would just be in there when the weather is really bad in the winter as they are supervised when fring. Thanks for your help. I am hoping to buy one as I am hopeless at DIY
