LauraN
A cockerel has strayed into our garden this evening!! He's very handsome, but overly interested in our lovely ladies (who were shut away quick). And he's now - advances shunned - fast asleep on a gatepost. Waiting to try again in the morning, no doubt. We've canvassed a couple of neighbours who also keep chickens, and they're not missing him. We also tried to get through to an RSPCA number (no luck). Does anyone know of a rescue centre in the Welwyn, Herts area who might take him? Thanks. LauraN
Thanks, Scarlett! I've just seen your post. We did look them up but hesitated as their website said they took on dogs, cats, rabbits and horses, and we had no luck getting through to the RSPCA at Potters Bar either. Then a neighbour put us in touch with another chicken keeper who keeps cockerels, too, and he took him off our hands. He was a handsome fella but, after our 5.30am wake-up call, we were wearily glad to see him re-homed!!!
